The fungal strain, Ascotricha sp., was isolated from the mud sample collected on the coastal beach in Fenghua County, Zhejiang Province, China. The fungus was cultivated in flask with shaking 180 rpm and at 28 ℃. The liquid medium was composed of D-mannitol of 20.0 g, D-glucose of 20.0 g, yeast extract of 5.0 g, peptone of 10.0 g, KH₂PO₄ of 0.5 g, MgSO₄ of 0.3 g, corn syrup of 1.0 g, and sea salt of 33 g, which were dissolved in distilled water of 1000 mL. After 7 days of cultivation, the fermented broth (65 L) was filtered through cheesecloth to be separated into the supernatant and the mycelia.

The isolation of the fungus was carried out using an indirect isolation method. After surface sterilization with 70% EtOH for 15s; the root of mangrove plant S. caseolaris was rinsed in sterile water. The fungus Campylocarpon sp. HDN13-307 was cultured under static conditions at 28 ℃ in 1000 mL Erlenmeyer flasks containing 300 mL liquid medium containing maltose (2%), mannitol (2%), glucose (1%), sodium glutamate (1%), yeast extract (0.3%), corn syrup (0.1%), KH₂PO₄ (0.05%), and MgSO₄.7H₂O (0.03%) dissolved in naturally collected seawater (Huiquan Bay, Yellow Sea, Qiangdao, China). After 30 days of cultivation, the whole broth (40 L) was filtered through cheesecloth to separate into supernatant and mycelia.

The mangrove plant Sonneratia caseolaris was collected from Hainan Province in 2012. The fungus P. janthinellum HDN13-309 was cultured under static conditions at 28 ℃ in 1000 mL Erlenmeyer flasks containing 300 mL of liquid medium containing maltose (2%), mannitol (2%), glucose (1%), sodium glutamate (1%), yeast extract (0.3%), corn syrup (0.1%), KH₂PO₄ (0.05%), and MgSO₄.7H₂O (0.03%) dissolved in naturally collected seawater (Huiquan Bay, Yellow Sea, Qiangdao, China). After 4 weeks of cultivation, the whole broth (20 L) was filtered through cheesecloth to separate supernatant and mycelia.

The endogenous fungal P. vaccinii (cgmcc3.9199) was originally isolated from a branch of K. candel (L.) Druce (Rhizophoraceae), a viviparous mangrove species widely distributed in coastal and estuarine areas of southern China. P. vaccinii (cgmcc3.9199) was grown under static conditions at 26 ℃ for 28 days in one hundred 1000 mL conical flasks containing liquid medium (300 mL/flask) composed of mannitol (20 g/L), maltose (20 g/L), glucose (10 g/L), monosodium glutamate (10 g/L), KH₂PO₄ (0.5 g/L), MgSO₄.7H₂O (0.3 g/L), yeast extract (3 g/L), and tap water after adjusting its pH to 7.5.

The fungus Phomopsis sp. TJ507A was isolated from the leaves of Phyllanthus glaucus collected from Lushan Mountain in Jiangxi Province, People's Republic of China, in September 2014. The fungus Phomopsis sp. TJ507A was cultured on potato dextrose agar at 28 ℃ for 5 days as seed cultures before subculturing in 1 L Erlenmeyer flasks with liquid medium (g/L: yeast 3, peptone 5, glucose 10, and maltose 3); the total amount of production medium was 150 L. The cultures were incubated in a rotary shaker incubator at 28 ℃ at 150 rpm for 10 days.

Endophytic actinomycetes were isolated from field-grown rhododendron plants for selecting candidates for biological agents to control plant diseases. A spore suspension of R5 (1 ml) was inoculated into a 300-ml flask containing 100 ml of seed medium composed of 1g soluble starch, 0.5g glucose, 0.3g NZ-case, 0.2g yeast extract, 0.5g tryptone, 0.1g K₂HPO₄, 0.05g MgSO₄.7H₂O, and 0.3g CaCO₃ (pH 7.0). The seed culture was incubated for 3 days at 30 ℃ on a rotary shaker (200rpm). A 3-ml aliquot of the culture was added to each of 12 flasks containing 100 ml of production medium composed of 0.5g glucose, 2g glycerol, 2g soluble starch, 1.5g Pharmamedia (Traders Protein, Memphis, TN, USA), 0.3g yeast extract, and 0.1g Diaion HP-20 resin (Mitsubishi Chemicals, Tokyo, Japan); it was then incubated on a rotary shaker (200rpm) at 30 ℃ for 6 days.
